A gender perspective of the 2023 parliamentary elections

The goal of this publication is to provide relevant arguments for policy and legislative changes, with a focus on removing barriers that hinder the increased participation of women and marginalized groups in politics. The analysis is based on thematic monitoring of the 2023 extraordinary parliamentary elections, covering the period from May 15 to September 30, 2023. This monitoring focused on the analysis of pre-election programs, electoral lists, and election results. Through qualitative and quantitative data analysis, we concluded that the majority of electoral lists (ten out of fifteen) barely meet the minimum quotas for the underrepresented gender.
